We could talk all day about the beauty and comfort of our Chesterfields (and often do), but we know nothing compares to experiencing them in person. That’s why we invite you to book a private appointment at the S.W. James shop.
There’s absolutely no pressure — think of it as a relaxed opportunity to explore our collection, settle into our Chesterfields, and enjoy a coffee and a chat with Warren. As our resident Chesterfield expert, he’ll guide you through our leathers, fabrics, and styles, answering any questions and sharing insights along the way.
Take your time — sit, stretch out, and get a true feel for the craftsmanship that defines every S.W. James piece. Whether you’d like to discuss sizes, cushions, and finishes, or simply enjoy the atmosphere, you’ll leave feeling confident, inspired, and one step closer to finding your forever sofa.

We’re located in Bollington, just 10 minutes down the road from Prestbury – a delightful village nestled in stunning Cheshire countryside, astride the River Bollin. No matter where you’re travelling from, this charming corner of England’s north makes for a perfect day trip, or even weekend getaway.

For longer stays, we recommend booking a luxury room at historical Georgian country house hotel, Mottram Hall. Precede your journey to the S.W. James shop with a stroll along Macclesfield canal, where you’ll find Café Waterside – situated just a stone’s throw from the shop itself. Their menu offers something for everyone – from the classic full English breakfast, to hassleback jacket potatoes, and even vegan sausage barms – and we can vouch for the delicious food ourselves!
Once you’re satisfied with your knowledge of our products and process, round the day off with a glorious plate at The Legh Arms – locally renowned as one of the best places to eat near Macclesfield.
